How Often Do You have to change your Ecoshred Bed?

Ecoshred Bed pet bedding is a great option for pet owners who want to provide a comfortable, absorbent and eco-friendly bedding for their furry friends.  The frequency of changing Ecoshred Bed pet bedding depends on several factors, such as the type and size of your pet, the size and shape of the cage or enclosure, the temperature and humidity of the environment and the personal hygiene of your pet. You should inspect your pet’s bedding regularly and look out for signs that indicate that it is time for a change, such as wetness, stains. You should also follow the steps to change the bedding properly and do some things to make it last longer, such as spot cleaning, adding fresh bedding, avoiding chemicals or fragrances and storing the unused bedding well.

As Ecoshred Bed is so absorbent and helps to stop odours some people have reported up to 3 weeks between changes when following these tips! Ecoshred Bed does not need a layer of anything else under it!

Here are some further tips and tricks to help you get started with Ecoshred Bed:

The frequency of changing Ecoshred Bed pet bedding depends on several factors, such as:

– The type and size of your pet. Different animals have different needs and preferences when it comes to their bedding. For example, hamsters like to burrow and nest in their bedding, while rabbits tend to be more messy and produce more urine and droppings. Larger animals will also need more bedding than smaller ones.

– The size and shape of the cage or enclosure. The larger the cage or enclosure, the more bedding you will need to cover the floor and provide enough depth for your pet to dig and rest in. The shape of the cage or enclosure also affects how evenly the bedding is distributed and how quickly it gets soiled.- Ecoshred Bed bedding is highly absorbent and can hold up to three times its weight in moisture. However, not all cardboard bedding is created equal. Some brands may be more dusty, less durable or less biodegradable than others. You should also use enough bedding to create a comfortable layer for your pet, but not too much that it becomes wasteful or difficult to clean.

– The temperature and humidity of the environment. You should keep your pet’s cage or enclosure in a well-ventilated area that is not exposed to direct sunlight or heat sources.

– The personal hygiene of your pet. Some pets are more fastidious than others when it comes to keeping themselves and their bedding clean. Some pets may also have health issues that affect their urine output or stool consistency, which can make their bedding dirtier faster.

Signs that you need to change Ecoshred  Pet bedding

You should inspect your pet’s bedding regularly and look out for these signs that indicate that it is time for a change:

– The bedding is visibly wet, stained or clumped together.
– The bedding has become thin, flat or compacted.

## How to change Ecoshred Bed pet bedding

When you decide to change your pet’s bedding, follow these steps:

1. Remove your pet from the cage or enclosure and place them in a safe and secure area.
2. Remove any toys, accessories or food bowls from the cage or enclosure.
3. Scoop out the old bedding and dispose of it in a compost bin or a rubbish bag. You can also reuse some of the clean bedding for nesting material if your pet likes it.
4. Wipe down the cage or enclosure with a damp cloth or a disinfectant spray. Make sure to dry it thoroughly before adding new bedding.
5. Add Ecoshred Bed bedding to the cage or enclosure until it reaches a depth of about 2-3 inches (5-8 cm) for small animals or 4-6 inches (10-15 cm) for larger animals. Fluff up the bedding with your hands to create air pockets and make it softer.
6. Return your pet’s toys, accessories and food bowls to the cage or enclosure and arrange them as you like.
7. Return your pet to their new and fresh bedding and reward them with a treat or a cuddle.

How to make Ecoshred Bed bedding last longer

To extend the lifespan of your Ecoshred Bed and reduce waste, you can also do these things:

– Spot clean the bedding daily by removing any wet or dirty patches with a scoop or a paper towel.
– Add Ecoshred Bed as needed to maintain the desired depth and fluffiness.
– Avoid using harsh chemicals or fragrances on the bedding or the cage or enclosure, as they can irritate your pet’s skin or respiratory system.

Ecoshred Bed pet bedding is a popular choice for many pet owners who want to provide a comfortable, absorbent and eco-friendly bedding for their furry friends. Ecoshred Bed is made from recycled cardboard that is shredded, dust-extracted and fluffed up to create a soft and cosy material. Was looking for new bedding for my rabbits after using dust extracted sawdust & had found several sharp/large pieces of wood . Came across this Ecoshred bed & decided to give it a go. I haven’t been disappointed. It’s highly absorbent (much more than sawdust), springy , no dust, and lasts much longer. Plus the seller sent me a link showing how it is made - benefitting the community as well as using material that would otherwise be wasted. That’s impressive! Highly recommended & will order again

I am a returning customer and I can honestly say that I wouldn't go anywhere else for bedding for my small animals. Rats have incredibly sensitive respiratory systems and since swapping to this I have seen a massive reduction in sneezing and itching. I've tried everything and haven't found anything as good. Customer service is excellent and delivery time is brilliant, for such a big bale its worth every penny. longer lasting between bedding changes and super absorbent. Love this product!

I used this as a substrate for my Guinea pigs and rats. It is dust free and suitable for both. My Guinea pigs aren’t litter trained and go to the toilet where they sleep, I found it soaks up well and keeps my Guinea pigs dry. My rats are litter trained but love digging about in it in their play area. It’s lovely and soft and has lasted just over and month of twice weekly clean outs of two enclosures. I have just purchased this again as I’m now running low.
